I just had a panic attack. I decided that i was bored with the way my tanks
were, so i put 7 white cloud mountain minnows in with 2 angelfish in a 45
gallon tank. the angelfish are about 1.5 inches long, and the white clouds
are juveniles, about .75 in. long. will the angels eat the white clouds?

Maybe not, but probably yes they will do so. Angel fish aren't true to their
name sakes so eventually they just might eat the white clouds if they haven't
already. Next time do more research about the fish before you buy them. I know
it's difficult, I've been keeping fish for 40 years and I've been guilty of it
too. You see a fish and you just can't say no and then you find either you've
bought fish food or doomed all your fish to be fish food eventually. So don't
feel too guilty we all do it sometimes.

Actually, i already owned the minnows. i just switched the tank they were in
so i could have my emperor tetras up in my room in my ten gallon low-tech
tank. i'm hoping they're going to breed up there.

I have White Clouds with Angelfish and have no problem at all.

I also have xray tetras in the tank with no injuries.

Some times it works sometimes it doesn't. Angels eat small fish in the wild and
will do so in an aquarium as well. I've seen people keep channel catfish with
small gold fish for years only to have all the gold fish dissapear in one nigth
with out warning. So don't feel too confident. the x-rays are probably too big
for the angels to swallow but adult angels should be able to swallow adult
white clouds. If they grow up together in the same tank there is slightly less
likelyhood of them being eaten.

Hmmm its been almost 4 years. And I feed my angels well, and they breed
in that tank. I have white clouds for the same amount of time in the
same tank, they did grow up together, so I am confident.

Taking another look at this thread, I took another look at my tank, I
have a combo of young white clouds and older full grown white clouds,
And the full grown white clouds are much longer and just as wide as my
xray tetras.

My sister has 6 angels in a tank with white clouds and gave her a call,
and she has kept them together with no problems. She brought her fish
here from another state and at that time 3 years ago had only white
clouds, then added the angelfish 3 at a time to her tank.

At least this give more prespective to the topic, anyone have full grown
Angels eat thier white Clouds? Or like sized fish? I have seen tanks
with Angelfish and neons, has anyone lost thier neons to Angelfish?

I've seen angels eat small fish but if they have grown up together and angels
aren't exactly vicous predators. but i would still suspect the angels if the
small fish start to disapeer.
